Swine Flu or H1N1 Influenza A is a highly infectious disease and it spreads through air as well as direct contact with the patient. This is spreading very fast that every country is on Level 5 Alert. Swine Flu has nothing to do with pigs other than the fact that these virus were first found growing in pig's body. Since this has been a recently growing issue, I thought I would help my readers avoid or take precautions in case of spread of Swine Flu in their regions.
- First of all, Wash your hands regularly. Every hour make it a point that you wash your hands atleast once.
- Whenever you sneeze or cough, cover your face with handkerchief or some sort of cloth and wash it after every sneeze or cough.
- If you see any symptoms, don't panic. Just go to your medcal advisor or the doctor and get yourself checked. Don't take in medicines without doctor's prescription.
- Avoid mask. Even if you wear any mask, use HEPA filter (High Efficiency Protective Air Filter) masks rather than usual medical masks or N-95 masks.
Though you wear a N-95 mask, these virus are so small (about 80-120 nanometers) that they go through the masks which filters out at 300 nanometers. Actually masks are not of too much protection but it does provide the mental strength for people to come out in public without the fear of getting infected.
- Be mentally prepared to face it and take precautions.
