Arsenal - Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere point the way forward

Arsenal starlet Aaron Ramsey is targeting a regular spot in the starting line-up for the Gunners next term.

The Welsh skipper featured only eight times for Arsene Wenger's side last term after recovering from a leg break suffered at Stoke the previous year, but impressed towards the end of the season with a handful of eye-catching displays.

Ramsey was again one of the positives during the Emirates Cup over the weekend, and whilst the results didn't go the way of Wenger's side against either Boca Juniors or New York Red Bulls, the 20-year-old showed once again that he could be a key part of Arsenal's plans this term.

"Obviously to get into the starting XI again, play a lot more games and hopefully put in a lot of good performances as well," Ramsey responded when asked about his aspirations for the coming campaign.

"We just go about the game the same way every time and play the way that we play, and I think a lot of players on the pitch make us dangerous."

With speculation continuing to link skipper Cesc Fabregas with a move away from the Emirates, the weight of expectation could fall on Ramsey and fellow youngster Jack Wilshere should the Spaniard leave in the transfer window.

Whilst the duo have already gained experience at both domestic and international level, Ramsey believes that the pair can continue to learn and develop under the guidance of Wenger, and that the team as a whole can improve further.

"I think I’ve played a lot of games for the first team and so has Jack (Wilshere), so we have a lot of experience between us," he continued to ESPN.

"There is still a lot more to learn not just for us but for the whole team as well. Hopefully we can do that and take it into the season."
