Arsene Wenger says summer signing Gervinho has all the attributes required to be successful at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal fans will get their first glimpse of the Ivorian frontman at the Emirates Cup this weekend following his sensational two-goal debut against FC Cologne on Saturday.
While Wenger knows his 30-minute cameo in Germany is only the start of his career in north London, he has already seen enough of the 24-year-old to know that he will be a fine addition to his strikeforce.
“I am confident he will integrate well into our collective play and he has qualities which will be needed by the group,” said Wenger on Friday. “That is his movement off the ball and his pace.
“The first impression is always very important because you get some trust from the fans and confidence for yourself. He has been successful on that front.
“It is only a half-hour but he has been very efficient. He has the qualities we like from a striker, he can score and give assists.
“Our strength is to play together as a team so to give the ball as a striker is important for us.”
