The robotics workshop and pro-show is being conducted by acclaimed firm GREY ORANGE ROBOTICS, who are the developers of India’s first indigenously developed humanoid robot 'AcYut'.

They will be conducting a three day workshop of 20 hours total dealing with the making of the humanoid hand.

This Robotics Workshop by masterminds of Grey Orange Robotics is first of its kind in Trivandrum. This is conducted in association with the Mega Fest "CULT A'WAY 2011".

As the name indicates “The art of Building Robots”. A recent survey in Japan concludes that, to be a Master of Robotics, one should be good in Electronics, Mechanics and Computer science (programming) too.

Thus, RoboKriti is a workshop especially designed for newbie's and robotics enthusiasts of all disciplines from diploma Institutes to Engineering Colleges of all the branches like Electronics, telecommunication, mechanical, computer science, production, metallurgy etc. They will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of robotics and will learn to apply them in real life. Hands-on sessions will help them understand the practical aspects too.

The students will learn the basics concepts and will gain the practical experience while working on the robotics kit specially designed and developed by Team Technophilia. Using this kit, students will make a robotic vehicle which can be controlled via four mediums, viz:

Arthrobots are walking robots with 4 or more legs. Hence this workshop aims at giving an opportunity to the students to take a stand and actively participate in the development of Legged Robots right from scratch. The word Robot was originated from the Czech word ROBOTA it means slave. Robots are manlike machines that can perform human tasks that never done by a human such as the work performs under extreme conditions (high temperature, altitude, inside nuclear reactors or dangerous Bio-chemical hazards etc.) Robotics is rapidly embracing ideas from other disciplines, leading to new technologies. Robots have evolved to visually discriminate between objects of different sizes. They have evolved over a period of time to integrate sensory and motor information with their inbuilt knowledge, so as to use the information later to better respond to their environment.

Tiny robots that think for themselves may soon become a reality. Scientists from the University of the West of England are looking at how intelligent, artificial organisms can be created from swarms of smaller robots, each no bigger than a sugar cube. The individual robots could link together in a variety of formations to share energy and ‘thought’ processes, to create a large machine that can think for itself and manage its own hardware and software. They could link up to create almost any shape, depending on what was needed for the task.
