It is beneficial to India but only problem is the Hide Act according to which America can make changes on some of the points with time
I am not much in favor of the deal, neither from energy point, nor from defence point.
1. Do we know how much energy we are going to get. i heard that plan is that it can produce max of 6% of the energy need and that also by 2010. just 6%.....why we are running so hard after 6% whereas we are short with much more than this and secondly we have other alternatives. Why not we work for Iran-Pak-india pipeline and get the required energy. The reason is US is against it and US don't want that whereas pipeline is cheaper and can give us more energy. Once we go for deal, we will ruin our relations with Iran as well and we have to join the anti-Iran lobby. Secondly, there is no gaurantee that we will get the nuclear fuel continuosly.
2. From defence point of view, most of our nuclear reactors will always be under check of UN. How can we allow this? We will get threats from US if we plan for any future nuclear tests. Why we are loosing our freedom and compromise with national security.
3. As far as Dr. kalam's statment is related, I take it differently.
I have great respect for this person. But at the same time, we shouldn't forget that he is a rocket scientist and not a nuclear scientist. We are ignoring the reviews of nuclear scientists just because we believe Dr. kalam. This is not right.
I am totally oppose of nuclear deal.......cause
1.once we do the deal then we will be the servant of America and that country can use us as they want as we have to depend on that country for the fuel.
2.and wat abt all the nuclear reactor if america will stop the fuel....we dont have any option other than to beg before america for the fuel...
3.And abt our nuclear programme :we r now in the second stage of nuclear energy production, one we complete the third stage that is production of nuclear enrgy with the help of thorium we will be the independent country in the nuclear energy as India has 92% of thorium (still we dont have that type of breeder wich is useful for thorium and it includes in third stage). so y r we only go for nuclear deal rather than the developing the third stage.. and i hav heard that it will take abt 2020 to have the third stage.
4.wat abt nuclear waste.how can we manage the nuclear waste?
5. And its america we cant trust this country at any time....this country will rule us if we make deal.....
