India had never produced a gold medal before and neither did India ever win more than 1 medal in the Olypics before. Abhinav Bindhra changed the former while it was now turn of Sushil Kumar to change the second.

Sushil Kumar had 3 matches withinin 45 minutes including the match for the bronze medal. He had a bruise on his head. The match was tied and it needed a tie breaker to decide the bronze medal winner. The tireness creeping on him, hopes stumbling in the stands, heart beating like they want to junp out, stakes raised to maximum, 100million beliefs looking upon him, It was the time to deliver and he just did it perfectly. He became the second Indian wrestler ever to win a bronze medal at the Olympics. The first one was won by his own guru in 1952.

The traditional form of wrestling, "Kusti" is being practised within India for the past 5000 years and it would take such miraculous performances from some of the wrestlers to win a medal on the international stage is very pathetic.

To add to that the situation of wrestling in India which is more pathetic, take the case of Sushil Kumar itself. He doesn't even have a job though representing India in the biggest international stage. Doesn't the government know who are atleast representing India in the international stage or do they ignore them. How can sportspersons except cricketers go unnoticed in India? No one has an answer to this.

After the victory, Sushil said that it was 10 years of shear hard work that got him a medal for India. He also wished that probably his victory would change the mindset of Indians to recognise sportspersons other than cricketers.

But today is a day to remember for sure, not just because an Indian wrestler is being recognised but because of the fact that a cricket match won by India was overlooked by the newspapers and TV channels to celebrate victory of Sushil Kumar with their Headlines.

Lets believe this is just the start,The BEST is yet to come
